Business Analyst – maternity cover

We are seeking a Business Analyst – maternity cover, for one of our clients, a company developing a Transportation Management System. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective documentation and communication of business processes and requirements. It is a six-month position with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:
➢ Collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders to support system migration initiatives, including the identification of data gaps and documentation of import requirements and mappings;
➢ Conduct detailed workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions to capture and clarify business needs and functional goals;
➢ Produce clear and comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Design Specifications (FDS), use cases, and user guides that align with stakeholder expectations;
➢ Act as a conduit between business users and technical teams, ensuring accurate translation of business logic into actionable development tasks;
➢ Assist the Product Owner in refining backlogs and articulating detailed user stories with testable acceptance criteria supported by relevant diagrams and workflows;
➢ Provide support throughout the software development lifecycle, including sprint clarifications, user acceptance testing (UAT), and hypercare phases;
➢ Contribute to the smooth delivery of Agile processes by participating in daily stand-ups, retrospectives, planning sessions, and effort estimation exercises.

Requirements:
➢ 1–5 years of proven experience as a Business Analyst in an IT environment, ideally with system integration or migration projects;
➢ Demonstrated expertise in drafting structured business documentation such as FDS, BRDs, process flows, and data mapping artifacts;
➢ Strong analytical mindset with a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear deliverables;
➢ Familiarity with BA methodologies and diagramming techniques (e.g., Use Case Diagrams, BPMN, Data Flow Diagrams);
➢ Proficient in Jira, Confluence, and other Agile project management tools;
➢ Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.

Nice to Have:
➢ Academic background in Computer Science or a related field;
➢ Experience responding to RFIs or working within consultancy frameworks;
➢ Prior exposure to post-release support and issue triaging in live environments.
