Hardware Embedded Application Engineer

We are supporting a global technology leader in the semiconductor industry — a company designing and manufacturing advanced embedded processors (MCUs, SoCs, analog chips) used across industrial automation, automotive, consumer electronics, communications systems, and much more. Their technology powers billions of devices worldwide and is known for reliability, long life-cycles, and strong engineering excellence.
To strengthen their European engineering support organization, we are looking for a Hardware Embedded Application Engineer who will work closely with hardware engineers across the globe — helping them design, debug, and successfully integrate cutting-edge embedded processors into real-world products.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on embedded work, deep-dive debugging, schematics analysis, communication with engineers — and solving real technical problems that matter.

Responsibilities:
➢ Provide technical support to hardware engineers via email, ticketing systems, and technical forums;
➢ Support customers working with SoC and MCU-based embedded designs across multiple product families;
➢ Review and analyze customer schematics, PCB design fragments, and code snippets to identify issues or design gaps;
➢ Investigate technical cases involving peripherals and communication interfaces (e.g. I2C, SPI, USB, UART, GPIO, CAN, CSI, JTAG, MMC, etc.);
➢ Use and reference internal and external technical documentation such as datasheets, user guides, application notes, and design guides;
➢ Collaborate closely with internal FAEs, product engineering, R&D, and documentation teams to resolve complex issues;
➢ Maintain high-quality and timely response rates in line with team SLAs;
➢ Continuously build knowledge of new MCU / SoC architectures, features, and ecosystem tools;
➢ Contribute to internal knowledge bases, FAQs, and technical documentation improvements.

Requirements:
➢ Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related technical discipline;
➢ At least 3 years of hands-on experience in the electronics or embedded systems industry;
➢ Strong understanding of microcontrollers / SoCs and their peripherals;
➢ Practical experience debugging hardware designs and peripheral communication interfaces;
➢ Ability to understand and interpret schematics and PCB layouts;
➢ Working knowledge of embedded development flows and tools;
➢ Fluency in English (written communication is especially important);
➢ Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a structured problem-solving approach;
➢ Comfortable communicating with engineers and guiding them through debugging steps.

Nice to Have:
➢ Exposure to AI-capable or Arm-based SoCs;
➢ Prior experience in technical support, FAE, forums, or customer-facing engineering roles;
➢ Knowledge of debugging tools and lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.);
➢ Experience with Embedded C or low-level firmware development.
