Hardware Schematics Review Engineer

ImpacT Hire is supporting one of our clients — a specialized engineering company working at the forefront of embedded systems, microcontroller-based products, and hardware design validation. The team collaborates with leading global semiconductor and device manufacturers to ensure that new hardware designs meet industry standards, follow best practices, and are production-ready.

As part of their upcoming expansion, we are looking for a Hardware Schematics Review Engineer— a fully hardware-focused role ideal for someone with strong electrical engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience in schematic design, microcontrollers, and power management.

Responsibilities:
➢ Perform detailed schematic reviews of customer hardware designs before they enter production;
➢ Analyze design files for microcontroller-based systems, power management circuits, and peripheral interfaces;
➢ Identify design issues, inconsistencies, and risks based on industry best practices;
➢ Recommend design improvements, corrections, and optimizations for MCU, PMIC, and digital circuitry;
➢ Review and validate component selection such as pull-ups, resistors, level shifters, and power supply elements;
➢ Evaluate power architecture and its integration with the MCU or processor;
➢ Prepare well-structured written feedback and reports for customers (primarily in English);
➢ Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure accuracy and consistency across multiple review cycles;
➢ Maintain high attention to detail — working methodically, without skipping steps or rushing through analysis;
➢ Handle approximately 2–3 schematic reviews per week, depending on complexity;
➢ Stay up to date with modern embedded design standards, MCU families, PMICs, interfaces, and hardware guidelines.

Requirements:
➢ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Communication Technologies, or a related field (mandatory);
➢ Mimimum of 1 year of proefecional experince with microcontrollers, embedded hardware, and debugging (mandatory);
➢ Proven experience in schematic design — including digital MCU systems, power supply ICs, PMICs, and hardware design best practices (mandatory);
➢ Strong understanding of schematic structure, component placement, pull-ups, signal integrity, and power management;
➢ Solid analytical skills and ability to carefully evaluate design details;
➢ High attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to reviewing complex hardware documents;
➢ Good written English — clear communication is more important than perfect grammar;
➢ Physical presence in Sofia, with onsite attendance required during the first 3 months.

Nice to Have:
➢ Programming skills in Embedded C/C++;
➢ Experience with hardware debugging tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or measurement equipment;
➢ Knowledge of PCB layout concepts (not required, but beneficial);
➢ Familiarity with SoCs, PMICs, and common MCU ecosystems.

What We Offer:
➢ Flexible home-office policy (after initial onboarding);
➢ Opportunity to work with cutting-edge MCU and SoC designs used by leading tech manufacturers;
➢ Work in a small, highly technical team focused on deep engineering expertise rather than volume support;
➢ Professional growth in schematic analysis, hardware validation, and embedded design principles;
➢ Supportive, collaborative environment with strong emphasis on precision and engineering excellence.

If you enjoy diving into schematic details, spotting design flaws, and helping engineers bring high-quality hardware to life, this role offers an impactful and highly technical environment to grow in.
