IT Support Engineer with German (Networking background)

ImpacT Hire is supporting one of our clients – an international technology organization delivering large-scale IT infrastructure and operational support services across enterprise retail environments.
We are currently looking for an IT Support Engineer with German to join an international team responsible for supporting and improving enterprise network infrastructure and operational service quality.
The role is focused on network support, troubleshooting, infrastructure operations, and continuous service improvement within complex enterprise environments. A hybrid working model (60/40) is offered.

Responsibilities:
➢ Support the delivery and operation of enterprise network services across international environments;
➢ Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot complex network infrastructures including WAN, LAN, WLAN, and BLE environments;
➢ Work with enterprise network devices and infrastructure components from vendors such as Aruba / HPE;
➢ Provide remote and phone-based technical support to internal teams and external service providers;
➢ Analyse network-related incidents and contribute to long-term infrastructure improvements;
➢ Identify recurring operational issues and implement sustainable optimization measures to improve service quality;
➢ Maintain technical documentation, operational reports, and knowledge base content;
➢ Collaborate with Product Owners and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with operational processes;
➢ Participate in on-call support activities when required.

Requirements:
➢ 3+ years of hands-on experience working with routers, switches, access points, and enterprise network devices;
➢ Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills related to network infrastructure and operational support;
➢ Good understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, and network topologies;
➢ Experience using diagnostic and troubleshooting tools such as Ping and Traceroute;
➢ Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
➢ Ability to work independently and prioritize operational tasks effectively;
➢ Very good command of both German and English;
➢ Previous experience in enterprise network environments is considered essential.

Nice to Have:
➢ Knowledge of network security concepts;
➢ Experience with firewalls, VPN technologies, and encryption techniques;
➢ Experience supporting large-scale operational or retail environments.
