We are supporting a highly specialized engineering organization that provides technical documentation, modeling, and development support for next-generation microcontrollers, embedded systems, and advanced system-on-chip (SoC) architectures. The company collaborates with leading global semiconductor manufacturers and plays a critical role in helping hardware and software teams bring innovative products to life.
As part of their growth, we are looking for a Technical Author (Engineer) — someone with a strong technical background who enjoys transforming complex hardware concepts into clear, accurate, and developer-friendly documentation. This role is ideal for an engineer who understands microprocessors, embedded systems, and hardware-level configuration and prefers a documentation-focused engineering path.
Responsibilities:
➢ Translate complex MCU/SoC specifications into clear, structured technical documentation, including user guides, programming models, datasheets, and module descriptions;
➢ Analyze microcontroller architectures, registers, and embedded modules to produce accurate programming models and configuration flows;
➢ Collaborate directly with engineering teams across different time zones to clarify requirements, specifications, and technical ambiguities;
➢ Review existing documentation, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and propose improvements;
➢ Create and maintain documentation across multiple formats (PDF, web, XML-based systems);
➢ Ensure terminology consistency, content quality, and compliance with internal documentation standards;
➢ Assist in organizing content using content management systems (CMS) and XML/DITA-based tools;
➢ Participate in technical discussions, occasional schematic reviews, and engineering meetings with international stakeholders;
➢ (Optional) Contribute to scripting or tooling tasks using Embedded C/C++, Python, or JavaScript where relevant;
➢ Support continuous improvement of documentation workflows, templates, and content structure.
Requirements:
➢ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Electronics, or Communication Technologies;
➢ Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in the area.
➢ Understanding of microcontrollers, embedded systems, processors, registers, and hardware modules;
➢ Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and hardware documentation;
➢ Very good command of English — written and spoken.
Nice to have:
➢ Experience with technical writing, especially using XML, DITA, or content management systems;
➢ Familiarity with tools such as xMetal, Oxygen, MadCap Flare, Tridion Docs;
➢ Programming experience with Embedded C/C++, Python, or JavaScript;
➢ Experience in embedded-systems companies (e.g., automotive, MCU/SoC development, electronics R&D).
What’s in It for You:
➢ Standard employment contract;
➢ Flexible home-office policy after the initial onsite period;
➢ Additional health insurance;
➢ Centrally located office in Sofia;
➢ Supportive, collaborative, and highly technical environment with access to cutting-edge MCU/SoC innovations.
